Wedding Day~Shelley&Mike :: Bridal Portraits

These are my favorites to shoot at a wedding, probably the case for most photographers.  You get the bride and groom alone, in their element, their little moments together and it can be magical.  The reception for Shelley and Mike was held at the historical Marshall House at Fort Vancouver, WA.  The house was wonderful for photos with antique pieces and the grounds outdoors were just as fab!

We started off inside, just taking some time to relax, decompress...breathe!

 Then we headed outside.  We encountered A LOT of sun and wind, but again, these two were amazing to work with, up for any suggestions, and completely in love with each other.

 This field outside the original Fort was SO amazing.  These little sprigged trees with the white made it look  like it was just waiting for a bride and groom to come visit. :)  I also threw caution to the wind and shot these outdoor portraits with my "new to me" 85mm lens (I had practiced a bit a few days before on my kids, just to make sure I knew what I was doing).  I love yummy tones this lens brought to the day!

My complete favorite from this set!!!!! Just LOVE it!

The same shot in color, gorgeous both ways!

Then it was off to the reception.  Thank you again to my assistant Heather for all of her help on this day!

Wedding Day~Shelley&Mike :: At the Temple

Shelley and Mike were my first wedding of 2012.  And what a splendid day they were blessed with. WOW!!! You couldn't ask for more perfect weather in the PNW, and in February no less.  Shelley is the younger sister of one of my dear friends, Stacey, so it was nice to be in a group where I knew some people already.

We met at the Mormon temple in Lake Oswego, OR, where their ceremony was taking place.  After the ceremony, the bride and groom exit the building and are greeted by their friends and family who come to share in their big day.  We did all of the family portraits near the reflecting pool and a few of the bridal party as well.  After that, we left to go to the reception site for the Bride and Groom portraits (which are always my FAVORITE to shoot).  So enjoy some shots from throughout this beautiful day!

Oh you know...just having a little fun at the reception venue! :)

More to come...

Starting the New Year with a Newborn~Little Levi

This new year has started off GREAT.  I've already met with and booked two weddings and have two more meetings within the next week with potential brides.  I am still planning on limiting my wedding coverage but love the anticipation of having them set on my calender.  My first individual shoot of the year was newborn Levi!  What a handsome little guy.  I had literally taken the painting tape off my walls that morning before he, his mom, auntie and cousin came over for his "modeling" session!

This shot was was a hot fave on my Facebook page! :)

I was able to capture several photos of him and mom because he didn't want to be put down too much.  But they're so sweet and raw and I just adore how they came out!

 A little "behind the scenes" look. Those are fun!
 This photo and the very next are my two favorites.  They're real and in the moment and so sweet!

Welcome to the world, little man!
